In 1904 Stubbs Bros. and John Chew Ltd acquired their business and John Chew’s Mill Street Works in Longton, renaming that works Argyle Works. Ware continued to be marked Stubbs Bros. Bankruptcy proceedings began against the brothers in December 1906, and a winding-up order followed in March 1907.
