About The Brownhills Pottery Co

James Eardley bought the Brownhills works after Frederick Bowers’s business failed in 1871. Eardley’s son and sons-in-law operated as The Brownhills Pottery Co, producing earthenware, stoneware, jetware and decorated table, tea and toilet wares. The company exhibited at the Paris Exhibition in 1878. Patterns included Pagoda, Dragon, Minerva and Laurel; the source identifies printed B. P. Co. marks and records continuation by Salt Bros.
