About The Grindley Hotel Ware Co Ltd
William Harry Grindley established the hotelware company in 1908 at Globe Pottery, Tunstall, as a sister company of W. H. Grindley & Co. It joined Cauldon Potteries in 1920 and was re-formed under John Goddard and Joseph Harrison in 1933 after the parent’s liquidation. Duraline was adopted in the early 1930s. Dudson Bros acquired it in 1952. It became The Duraline Hotel Ware Co Ltd in 1979 and Dudson Duraline Ltd in 1996.
