About The Winterton Pottery (Longton) Ltd

Winterton Pottery made earthenware dinner and tea sets and cellulose-decorated art ware in Longton. It closed under the Wartime Concentration Scheme in 1941 and reopened in 1946. Gerald Wood became a partner around 1948–1950, and the business was sold to the Keele Street Pottery Group. Manufacturing appears to have ceased around 1954; it was described as a non-manufacturing unit of Staffordshire Potteries (Holdings) Ltd in 1962.
