About Thomas Dean & Sons
Thomas Dean and his sons G. A. and J. E. established the Black Works business in Tunstall. The source notes a date conflict: Godden gives 1789, while company stationery and a price list state 1880. It became a limited company in 1934 and operated within Ridgway & Adderley from 1947 to 1952, retaining the Thomas Dean & Sons name. The works were renamed Teapot Works.
