About Thomas Forester

Thomas Forester trained at Minton, managed Victoria Works in Shelton and worked for Wardle & Co and at Tournai before starting his Longton business in 1877. He completed Phoenix Works in 1879 and took sons Herbert and Victor into partnership in 1883. The company incorporated in 1891 and made majolica, art pottery, earthenware and china. It later produced Trogon Ware and Phoenix China. Collingwood Bros operated with it under wartime concentration from 1941.

The business closed in June 1959.
