About Thomas Walker
Thomas Walker made earthenware, particularly ironstone, at the Lion Works, Sandyford, Tunstall, leased in 1845. John Walker left their partnership in 1848 and Thomas continued alone until his death in 1852. The firm supplied South American and other export markets. Its equipment and engraved copper plates were auctioned in September 1853; Anthony Shaw bought some plates.
