About Tournai
François Joseph Peterinck opened a porcelain factory at Tournai in 1751 after buying an existing earthenware workshop. With the French ceramist Robert Dubois he produced soft-paste porcelain. The factory operated until 1885 and made only earthenware near its end. The early grey porcelain body improved but retained a cream shade.
