The factory made finely painted figurines and groups, including birds, horses and hunters, with imitation tulle and lace.

The Unterweissbach porcelain factory was founded in Thuringia in 1882, initially making tableware and later figurines. It merged with other porcelain enterprises, including Schwarzburger Werkstätten in 1908. After bankruptcy and division during the Depression, Karl Saar owned the works in 1936–1940. Schaubach acquired it in 1940 and concentrated on artistic porcelain. It was nationalized in 1953 and reclaimed its original name after German reunification.
