Whittaker partnerships manufactured earthenware at Hall Fields Pottery, Hanley, built in 1882. Lewis Whittaker and James Edge were the original senior partners. Robert Rowley left in March 1884. When Edge left in August 1886 the firm became Whittaker & Co. John Henry Weatherby left in August 1891 and Samuel Heath became a senior partner; the firm continued as Whittaker, Heath & Co until 1898.
