About William Hackwood

William Hackwood manufactured earthenware and jasper ware at Eastwood, Hanley. After a partnership begun in 1807 dissolved in November 1827, he continued alone. The business was followed by William Hackwood & Son at New Hall, Shelton. This potter is distinct from the William Hackwood who modelled for Josiah Wedgwood.
