Aldwych China was used by several firms. The source associates about 1912 with Arkinstalls joining the Robinson group, not the introduction of this particular mark.

About Wiltshaw & Robinson (Ltd)

James Frederick Wiltshaw founded Wiltshaw & Robinson in 1890 with James Alcock and William Herbert Robinson at the Carlton Works, Stoke. The firm made earthenware and china, including crested Carlton Heraldic China. Wiltshaw became sole proprietor in 1911. After his death in 1918, Cuthbert Wiltshaw led the business. Designers Horace Wain and Enoch Boulton developed new patterns. The firm acquired Birks, Rawlins & Co in 1933 and became Carlton Ware Ltd in January 1958.
