Notes
Gorham of Providence, Rhode Island acted as importer and sponsor/maker of sterling silver. Its London agency opened in 1894 at 32 Essex Street, Strand; showrooms opened at Ely Place in 1904. In 1909 it took Henry Emanuel's factory, known as Sterling Works, retaining Emanuel as superintendent. It maintained the factory until WWI. John Henry Buck first entered a mark for Gorham as importer in 1894; other GMCo marks were entered in and London.
