Royal Satsuma mark
ROYAL SATSUMA is trade wording on decorative ceramics; it does not identify an imperial Japanese factory.
English wording and ceramic body
Compare the printed English wording with Japanese character signatures on Satsuma earthenware. The cream body, crackled glaze, decoration and any independent workshop name are more specific clues than the word Royal.
What to check next
Look for MADE IN CHINA, JAPAN or another country inscription elsewhere on the base. Retain the complete printed emblem when comparing examples; a name suggesting a ceramic tradition does not provide a production date.
