Imari porcelain marks
With Imari porcelain marks, a Japanese character signature, European company stamp or absence of a mark therefore changes the maker search.
Place name and decoration
Blue underglaze with red and gold overglaze decoration is a familiar Imari palette. Similar decoration was produced elsewhere, including Europe. A Japanese character signature, European company stamp or absence of a mark therefore changes the maker search.
What to check next
Compare the foot, body, rim and complete mark with the decoration. Read ARITA or a workshop name separately from an Imari-style pattern description; the palette alone does not select one manufacturer.
